Books I’m Reading

The Whole Package

This book was published back in 2011 and I met Cynthia when we both wrote for Berkley Publishing. The book has been on my TBR pile for that long!

I finally got the opportunity to read it while on vacation, and I loved it! It’s a fun book about three friends whose lives get turned around as they turn 40.

So, they do the most logical thing ever, they decide to open up a restaurant staffed by partially naked men (using Hooters as their inspiration).

It’s well written and interesting and I highly recommend it!

The Witch of Portobello

I recently purchased this book while strolling through and independent bookstore. I never leave a bookstore without buying something, especially at an independent bookstore.

Paul Coelho always writes books that make you consider the way you should view your life.

This book is about a young woman who learns to connect with her spirit to learn who she really is, then inspires others to do the same by using music and dance, silence, and meditation.

It’s told through the point of view of people who knew her and were affected by her quirky personality.

I enjoyed it.

Dogs, Dogs, Dogs and Cats!

My chihuahuas can sense when I’m about to leave for a few days. They were not happy that I was going to Sedona. They cuddled together to comfort each other.

My Zen cats who love to sleep outside next to Buddha, always hang out together. The cats are new additions to the family. They found their way to my backyard last year and decided to stay. They were young kittens, probably abandoned by their mom.
